American Society of Mechanical Engineers is one of the premier engineering groups in the United States. Although it is in a fledgling state at Northwestern, new, committed leadership is promising to bring ASME to the forefront of the Northwestern Community. Along with the fun and satisfaction brought by becoming a member of this club, there are a number of benefits to becoming a Student Member.

  • Networking  Along with our close ties to the Skokie Valley Senior Section of ASME, we present opportunities to meet and find employers through speakers and other events.

  • Scholarships  Student members are eligible to apply for ASME's over $115,000 worth of scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 each.

  • Free Subscriptions  Student members are automatically subscribed to ME Magazine, Mechanical Advantage Newspaper, ASME News, and ASME's online student E-Zine, to keep you better informed on the events of Mechanical Engineering.

  • Freshman Join Free  Membership fees to the national student ASME are waived for those students in their first year of college. All benefits except subscriptions still apply. All other students are charged only $20 for a year.

  • Chance to Join Exec Board  Every year we hold officer election, and here is your chance to become an even more contributing member to ASME, and use your leadership skills to help bring Northwestern ASME to the next level.

  • Upgrade Discount  Graduating Members of ASME are given large discounts on upgrading to Senior level of ASME membership.
