CAMPUS AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

OVERVIEW I PROJECT DETAILS I GET INVOLVED

Overview:
This winter, ESW presented a lunch talk on sustainability at the Society of Women Engineers’ Career Day for Girls. In the spring, several members represented ESW at the Network for Evanston’s Future conference on global warming.

Project Details:
At Career Day for Girls, nine members did a half hour presentation summarizing the Panama and the waste vegetable oil projects. There was also a quiz on sustainability, and “green” gifts were handed out. The presentation was very successful, and the possibility of making it a yearly event is being considered. At NEF’s conference, two members talked about the progress of the Everyday Actions Video. They started a discussion on simple actions one can take to reduce one’s environmental footprint. The NEF is interested in continuing ESW’s participation in the event in the coming years.

Get Involved:
During the winter and spring, we will need people to handle planning and logistics for the events as well as modify the presentations, facilitating group rehearsals, and of course presenting at the events. We are always open to presenting at other events as well, so please do not hesitate to provide suggestions.
