About Northwestern Toastmasters
What is Toastmasters?
A friendly, relaxed atmosphere for practicing public speaking;
learn your strong points as well as your weak points; an
opportunity for honing leadership skills.
What's a meeting like?
A combination of extemporaneous and prepared speeches; a personal
evaluation of each prepared speech; opportunities to run the
entire meeting or small parts.
What is in it for me?
Awards in speaking proficiency; awards in leadership; experience
in speaking contests; learn to control nervousness when speaking
in public.
What is Toastmasters International?
An international organization dedicated to improving public
speaking with several hundred clubs in Chicagoland including four
in Evanston and other clubs across the nation.
When are meetings held?
Tech M164; Wednesday's 5:00-6:00pm
