History of BMES |

The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) was incorporated as a non-profit organization on February 1, 1968 in response to a need to give equal representation to both biomedical and engineering interests. The purpose of the Society is to promote the increase of biomedical engineering knowledge and its utilization. |

The Biomedical Engineering Society here at Northwestern University aims to guide new students through their BME coursework and help upper-class students seek employment or admission to to graduate school. BMES at Northwestern also wishes to promote independent thought about the current challenges and advancements in the field by inviting experts to speak about their contributions to biomedical engineering. |
